The Mazda 6s(V6) and nitrous..........
ok whats up everyone............i have a small question for everyone here. it may turn into a big question but here goes.
Now from research that i have been doing........its pretty common to know(from what i have read and heard from word of mouth) that the 3.0L duratec takes very nicely to boost. granted u can acquire managment for it. Ive heard 8-10psi very reliably on the stock motor and 12-16psi with the replacement of the main bearings. Thats just the common say i have been hearing but not sure if its indeed a act, but anyway........
how well do you guys think the 3.0L will take to nitrous.....granted you can obviosly run nitrous on any motor but some handle it better than others. I am usually the guy who tells people to just boost their car and stay away from nitrous but seeing as tho currently there really isnt any true management for the 6.....besides standalones and maybe a Speed6 ecu mated over to the 4 bangers........ it seems to me nitrous would be a good out until some legitamate management or kitcomes out to where u wont have to replace ur entire ecu(some like SCT which i use for my Turbo escort, tuned that lil' 2.0L to over 300hp) where u can flash the ecu as u please. i just dont have the downtime right nowto custom fab a setup for the six like i did with the escort(3-4weeks from manifold out to the muffler, ya know)
How big of a shot of nitrous do u belive the 3.0L can take reliably as a daily driver........i definately will not be juicing on a regular basis, just once in a while if i need to........im very reserved in the usage of power on any of my cars(basically pick and choose my battles carefully).
I was looking at the ZEX smart nitrous system which can be jetted from a small 50shot to 150 shot.
i was thinking maybe a 100shot(wet of course) since wet seems to be the safest and most reliable route when it comes to nitrous. Also going that route the size of the injectors can stay stock or near stock size as opposed to dry shots where u'd need way more fuel to compensate.
what are you guys/gals oppinion on Bottle feeding the six? this would be temporary until i do up a turbo setup for it. Mr. Tea i belive has a TT6 and i love it.........but anyway........any opinions and knowlegde on the durabilty of the 3.0L would be of great help to me/
thanks ahead of time and sorry for the long post

Hey i am stuck in the same situation. And I'm new to the forum I have a 2006 Mazda 6 3.0 V6 and i can get a full nitrous kit off my buddy for cheap. I was thinking about running a 50 shot on stock engine. I searched but cant really find much. Any ideas? anything would help thanks.

50shot will be fine on this motor. so long as it is direct port. do not do a dry shot on this motor, Pre-throttle body on the motor will blow it. Direct port and you'll be fine.
50 shot is safe. 75shot would be the extreme safe limit.
just dont go spraying everytime someone passes you by lane change, use it responsibly.
lmao, 2 year old post, hiya shell, lol
