Default Mazda 6 shifting into reverse

I have recently purchased a 2010 Mazda 6 1.8L 5-gear manual.

It is a great car & I really enjoy driving it. Gears 1-5 are fine. Sometimes (about 1/3rd of the time) when I go to shift into reverse it won't "go in" fully - If i press the accelerator I get revs but the car doesn't move (ie behaving as though it is in neutral). If I then shift to neutral then back to reverse then it always goes in fine.

I understand that there is no synchromesh on reverse gear, but is this behaviour normal?

I have a 3 month warranty on this car, and want to check whether I need to be taking it back to the dealership to get it fixed under warranty. Thanks in advance!

Not normal. If you have a warranty still, take it back and have it inspected.
