2006 Mazda 6 Not going into foward or reverse

I have a problem with my Mazda 6 2006 and wonder if you guys would be able to help me out. My wife was driving it out of her Mother’s driveway. As she was driving out she hit a bump pretty hard and it hit the bottom of the front end. She went further and had to stop for traffic. When she tried to drive out into the road, the car wouldn’t go forward. She put it in reverse and went backward so she figured she would try forward again and nothing. Then she put it back into reverse to get it out of the way and it would go in reverse either at that point. It’s not the cv joint and I have no idea what else it could possibly be. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to get the car up on a lift & see if something on the undercarriage was damaged. Hopefully it is not the trans.
