I'm new to this site, so first of all, hello. I have a potential problem with my 15 plate 6 diesel, which I hope someone can shed light on:
When I start the car from cold it revs to 1850 straight away for a few seconds before dropping to normal tick over.
I have been previously told that this is normal?
I'm very sympathetic to cold engines - excessive wear and all. Is this really normal or is a sensor faulty ( of which there are dozens ) which can rectify the problem.
