Hi. Thought i would update. I purchased a brand new maf sensor. Unpluged the old one. Disconnected the battery. Fitted the new. Left battery disonnected for an hour. Reconnected the battery. Started the car. Let idle for 20 to 30 mins. Took out for a drive and no change. Yet when the maf sensir is uplugged it drives fine. I repeat I have no cel. Does anybody have the slightest clue on what to do next. Thanks

New dosen't always mean good. Does your cel come on with the key switch set to on? What I am seeing is the ecm isn't recognizing the maf, and is using old stored data. Have done any mods to the air inlet system?

Hi. I tried a second hand one from an identical car which was working fine on the other car. No change so got a new one. Still no change. Yeah the cel comes on with the ignition then goes off in the usual way. What more can I do to mske it forget old data other than disconnect the battery. Thanks

Default solved at last

I really hope this helps people in my postion. Despite all the messing about it was the lambda aka the o2 sensor which needed replacing. I got the correct part number from mazda for my car and found a brand new one online myself. It was half the price of mazda part from dealer. It cost me £200. But il take that from the problem to be sorted. I fitted it. It was very easy. Please contact me if uou want a step by step guide.
Hope it helps you all.
