The freeze plugs were for I believe, if the coolant, or water was to start to freeze and it would expand and pop the plug instead of cracking the engine block...

exactly! I brought it in last Wednesday. They are telling me it wont be ready until this Thursday.

Read this.

It turns out there is a hairline crack on my engine. That is what has been causing the antifreeze leak. I can't believe this. So I am getting a brand new engine. Covered by warranty. I still can't believe my ears.

It can happen. Blocks are cast.

IMO, it's better to have a completely new engine than to wonder if they really fixed the problem.

So where was the coolant going? Did they find it in the oilpan or was it getting burned up?

well atleast its under warrenty, you should ask them to give you back your motor (so you can make a skeleton of your car) Like i am
