Default Engine Overheating

For all M6 owners... Do your cars have a problem with the engine overheating sometimes? The other day there was some smoke coming from my engine but it wasn't a lot and lasted a few minutes. I was just wondering if it's just that something could be wrong with mine or have other people had this problem.

I haven't had any issues. Are you sure that it was your engine overheating? Did the engine temp gauge increase? It's possible you have oil on the engine block and it was burning off. Also, check the dipstick to check your oil level. I had an issue where the mechanic left it out, ended up filling my engine up with TOO much oil, and the oil started spraying out of the dipstick opening. No ****tin' either! I spazzed, cuz obviously, I didn't know until I noticed that the car still smelled like burning oil after driving it for over an hour. (I figured there was a little bit of oil on the block. Boy was I wrong.)

You might be right Alysa, it could be oil burning off on the engine. I might either have a leak somewhere or something to do with the oil level. The temp gauge stayed the same

Yeah your engine would more than likely shut itself off if it were overheating. And the gauge would have let you know that it was. Check it out and see if you're springing any leaks anywhere. Also check the underside of the hood to look for any fluid spray. That's a common indicator.
