Check Engine Light - 2014 Mazda 6
Hey guys, new to the site.
Purchased a 2014 6 in July. Recently crossed over 4,000 miles. Very happy with the car.
Three days ago, the CEL came on after the 6 was left idle for more than 24 hours. I made an appointment at a local Mazda dealer. On the way to the dealer, the CEL disappeared. I cancelled the appoitnment.
That evening, the CEL returned and the car started bogging down when the gas pedal was pressed. It would accelerate but at a VERY slow pace. I could barely merge onto the highway and get up to speed.
The 6 was taken to the dealer the next morning and dropped off. I checked on the car around lunchtime (4-5 hours later). I was told the code causing the CEL was something totally new. The dealer had no idea what caused the CEL and they had to contact Mazda corporate. Surprisingly, corporate had never seen the code on a 2014 6 as of yet. Yes, I'm that lucky. The dealer reset the light and tried to mimic the issue (was told they drove it 20 miles) but no dice. I picked up the car and drove home while crossing my fingers that the issue was just a glitch.
Nope. Light came on. Car running very sluggish and acting like it wanted to stall out. Limited power upon pressing the gas pedal. This time, I video'd my dashboard while I "accelerated".
The car was dropped off again this morning at the dealer. Of course (again, my luck), they haven't been able to get the car to act in the same manner. I asked them to keep it until the issue is fixed and to let me have a loaner. The funny thing is that they "are out of loaners" even though there's 200+ cars on the lot.
This issue is screaming fuel pump and/or fuel injection sensor. I will update as I find out.
Anyone else heard of this issue with the 2014 6's?

I have a 2014 Mazda 6 that just had the engine light come on. Did you ever get a resolution to your issue?
