2004 Mazda 6 Classic Manual
HI there,
I own a 2004 Mazda 6 Classic 5 speed manual, model 6A04B Hatch. I drove this morning I was about to turn left. I pushed the indicator to the left to indicate and then noticed a sound. The hazard lights came on. I pulled over and stopped. With the engine on, I tried to the turn the indicator to the right nothing. The hazard light kept blinding. I depressed the hazard light switch on nothing happened. The hazard light kept blinking. I turned the engine off and the hazard light kept blinking. I found the hazard light fuse (number 14, 10amp. I changed the 10amp fuse it was working) in the fuse box, near the battery. I and pulled hazard fuse out and the hazard lights stopped blinking. I then turned the motor back on and then put the right indicator on. The right indicator light did not work. I then tried the left indicator also did not work. I checked all the globes to make sure they were working. High beam globes working, normal light globes working, fog light globes working, blinker lights working (when I put the 10amp fuse back in), brake lights working, reverse lights working.
I checked the fuse box and there is no fuse for the blinker lights.
I drove my wife's Mazda CX5 and popped into to see the mechanic.
Are there any other checks I can do for my Mazda 6?
Its been a great car little maintenance.
The mechanic mentioned it might be the flasher relay. Is this correct?
Are there 2 relays, one for the indicator and the other for the hazard switch?
Or is there just one relay, the flasher relay?
Would it be better to get the mechanic to repair?
If you need any further information, please let me know.
Any kindly advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank Erwin
