I scoured the threads on releasing a stuck rear hatch. Reset locks, opened access door and moved white hook manually.

My problem is unique in that it appears hatch was in open position and car was locked - closing the rear hatch lock mechanism - and then the hatch was closed shut. So the hatch and base mechanisms are jammed together.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve? I've gently pry'd with crowbar and large flat blade screw driver. Appears it's a choice of how much damage you want to create? I can see the bolt heads for base plate but cannot get a wrench head on them.
