Default Looking to lighten the load

Anybody ever hear about a protege5 hatch being
Replaced to reduce weight? I personally have never seen a c.fiber hatch on a 5
The entire time I owned mine. Any feedback is welcomed. Maybe more ideas to lower weight.. The stock hatch feels way to heavy IMO

I don't think anyone is gonna make such an animal. Not enough market to justify it. Hood, fenders, fit on both P5 and sedan, but hatch is just P5. There's lots going on in a hatch- gotta support it's self more than the hood, carry the weight of the rear glass, and that's a pretty big hole in the framework of a unibody car- the hatch has to stabilize that hole, or at least stay in place, so it's gonna be heavier.

If you are gonna get all OCD about weight, you might do better replacing the safety glass windows with Lexan!
