Hello .could someone help me with which automatic transmission fluid I need? I only saw ATF M-V in the manual ?
But which type ? I have a Mazda 5 from 2013 2.5L automatic .
They can't help me here in the Netherlands because my car was intended for the Amercan market !
In the Netherlands . they have only 1.8L and 2.0L models.
Thank you in advance
Strongly suggest Mazda MV or Ford equivalent and nothing else, as recommended by updated service bulletin from Mazda. Nothing else is a recommended.
You strongly suggest.... romlao with nmo credentials in the auto industry wahtso ever mentioned since you joined LOL
Great another DIY wonder member that apparently will believe anything how he personally interprets that service bulitin.?
I can see another oneside deabat coming on with me and yet another member that really has no clule about the subject.... so lets do this thins time.....
Please post that exact service bulletin so we can read exactly what it says.
I can tell you before even reading that service bulletin that you absolutely WRONG with your response!
Its easy There are likely less then a small number of the total number of TSB that came from Mazda that use the word REQUIRED
and there is the .... Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act (P.L. 93-637) is a United States federal law (15 U.S.C.§ 2301et seq.). Enacted in 1975, the federal statute governs warranties on consumer products.

Wow, so much rambling nonsense, using entirely faulty reasoning, logic and wholeheartedly distorting references?
For those with some common sense, here's the Service Bulletin where Mazda says NOT to use Mercon or other fluids: SB-10097348-2532.pdf
Idemitsu is the manufacturer of the Mazda M5 fluid, as well as fluid Ford specs for their FNR5 transmission, which is common to the Mazda 5 and some Ford models. It's pretty safe to go with Mazda's recommendation with respect to transmission fluid, which is considerably more specific per application that engine oils are.
Now, there's something more to rant on about Calipso! Have at it lad!
First Thanks for quoting my long response again. When you do that for members only look at the last response on a thread they get to read my valuable and experienced based information again
Ok that TSB you posted .. three words
Yup wrong again…lol
Go read that TSB again… …
Highlights of that TSB so a 1st grader can understand…
—————————————————DESCRIPTION
Always be sure to use the correct automatic transmission fluid when replacing ATF. Using the wrong ATF may
cause shift quality complaints or may even damage the transmission.
CAUTION:
• USING ATF OTHER THAN ATF M-V (TYPE M5) IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS
DESIGNED TO USE ATF M-V (TYPE M5) MAY CAUSE SHIFT QUALITY COMPLAINTS.
• USING ANY OTHER ATF OTHER THAN THE SPECIFIED ATF IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMIS-
SIONS MAY CAUSE TRANSMISSION DAMAGE.
• USING A GENERIC, MULTI-PURPOSE OR UNIVERSAL ATF MAY CAUSE TRANSMISSION
DAMAGE.
• DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSED BY USING THE INCORRECT ATF, OR A
GENERIC, MULTI-PURPOSE OR UNIVERSAL ATF WILL NOT BE COVERED BY WAR-
RANTY. Refer to the following chart, the Owner’s Manual, or MS3 for ATF specifications.
———————————————————————
CASTROL meets the specifications recommended by Mazda.
When you build a complete automatic transmission (at least a Mazda or Ford I have done both) then you
would at least have some very basic knowledge about how it works , the materials used and why it’s at least important to use quality oil that meets the auto manufacturer specifications.
To repeat that TSB only states not to use and ATF that is not specified for the transmission, it DOSE NOT state in any way that it “MUST” or is your word “REQUIRED” be Mazda or Ford ATF.
Shuswap it is owners of vehicles like you that pass bad information on forums that lead others reading you responses thinking you have some actual knowledge of the subject material which clearly Ypur responses indicate you don’t and can even read a document correctly let alone
Having any service training and experience on the servicing of automatic transmission . But in maybe only you think that in your mind?
Now go read that TSB again and find the legal word REQUIRED. And also take notice a lot of the word “may” . Another big word for you in the legal word to Lear how and why it’s used on many documents. Lol
I love this response quote from you on another thread , yet here you are still responding to this forum lol

Also I suggest you read several informative documents on the Magnuson Warranty Act
Hard to believe you read the same bulletin and came to such a discombobulated / dumb conclusion, but you are you, eh?
Must be great working with you, ever get a repeat customer? Not often? No surprise, didn't think so.
At no point did I say not to use other fluids, I said this was the latest SB from Mazda explaining why a compliant fluid was required in models that included the Mazda 5 with the 2.5 trans....and suggesting the fluid they sold. I've done several drain/fills with this fluid to great success.
Use any damn thing you want but you will NEVER work any vehicle of mine, far too nutty for me and I suspect many many others as well.
Try not to kick the cat when you get home!
more or less the members now is just wanting to add more information in an attempt to justify he not really understanding what he posted ..the TSB 😂
6 days later to log on the forum and go right to this thread and no other ?

The funny thing is you like many are a point to laugh at and I post your response as well mine on a big scre3n in the shop. Both my customers and my crew see them. You make great comedy entertainment for all .

This is very helpful, accurate, and consistent with the recommendations of the product engineers.
they are not product engineers? but chemical engineers or scientists. lol There is a difference.
I was wondering when you were going to respond but like a good troll you found a thread I posted on. Please don?t deny it , your log on and viewing record supports this activity.
You should at least read the TSB and try to understand it if you can ?
shuswap has no clue or understanding about the information that you seem to give him praise for
wow! Lol
