Default 2007 Mazda 5 issues I should be aware of?

Long time Miata owner (have NA, MSM, NC2 in garage), looking to get a car for the family.

Was looking at 2012 model with the stick shift, but wife is insisting on automatic.

Local dealer just took a trade, 2007 Mazda5, 57K miles, black color, Sport + Sunroof.

Is the sunroof OEM? New Sports don't have it, just making sure.

I have read about the fast eating tire, and especially if it effects the sport model. This car has new tires,AND is a sport model. Should I stay away?

Car looks to be in excellent shape. New tires and new brakes all the way around and new rear shocks.

They are asking 10,700.

The steering recall has been performed.

1) Any particular issues to be aware of?

2) How are the motor/tranny holding up on high mileage ones?

We plan to keep it at least another 100k miles, so 150K or so.

Thoughts?

we have an automatic 08 model here and have had no issues with engine or tranny and we love it. According to Kelly blue book, in good condition asking price is 10,300 here in Oklahoma. as for the sunroof, I'm certain they offered it as an add on extra, but the only way to be sure would be to run the vin number to see what it came with from the factory. Mazda offered a fix for the tire issue but it will still wear on the inside of the rear tires. only way to get rid of this issue is to get adjustable camber links for the rear (rear upper control arms).

Application Guide

hope this helps and good luck

How many miles do you h ave on yours?

It seems like I should skip this deal and go 08+, becuase the 07 doesn't have the rear air, and being in S. Cal, I think that is key.

Don't need heat. It is not our DD. It will be a road trip car, so summer AC might be very imp.
