XM radio with factory stereo, 08 sedan? Confused!!
Hey everyone new to the forum and have a question already!!!
I have an 08 Mazda Sedan and I'm looking into XM radio with built in or non built in function. I called my local dealership today and they said it would be almost $600 Canadian to have the sat radio kit installed to my factory stereo . I decided to look into other options and now I have a question.
I have a xm mini tuner that I use to get service on my home pioneer receiver that uses xm direct. I found that I can by car kits that I can install my self and insert my mini tuner into them whenever I want to get service. The problem is that I can't seem to find Mazda harnesses to make it work. This is an example of the kits I found.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get it cheaper????

The factory radio is set up for Sirius, and if your car was built after 1-1-08 it would be about 260 USD for the satellite unit. Installation on mine was done by me and was not all that bad, just follow the directions.
Other than that you have the aux you can plug the XM receiver into, but that would be the only way I could think of to get XM over Sirius.

This is kind of old now, but I just bought all I need for Sirius.. $59 at Futureshop. They can do the instal for $79, but I will do it myself.
So either prices have come WAY down, OR some places are seriously overcharging. Definitely dont get it through the dealer, way to pricey that way.
