Default uneven power with acceleration

I have had a 2009 mazda3 for about 2 months now. Bought it used with only 13,000 miles on it. I love the car and cant wait to make it mine with some modifications... but I have one question.

I have noticed that it powers unevenly while accelerating. Also has a little bit of a rough idle from time to time. It lags and then lunges periodically while accelerating. Its not extreme... but noticeable. I dont really notice it if I really get on it... noticed more with gentle acceleration. Do I need to get used to this or should i be looking for something that might be fixable? Is this a common experience with these cars? Thanks!

electronic throttle body gives that feeling, you can reduce that throttle lag by buying either spending 450$ to have your ecu retuned but requires for you to send it out or spend ~$500 for a unit that alters the signal to improves response greatly. But before you think about all that, see if you need a tune-up, air filter, new oil, and plugs
