Ok, so I know these posts are already in here but im looking for the shortest antenna i can find. I have my iPod wired into my car so i rarely listen to the radio and, the antenna is now just a cosmetics issue. Teh reception doesnt really matter that much to me, as I just want the roof of my car to look as clean os possible.

ive seen an antenna on Ebay that looks like an XM antenna, but i dont think that it could work for regular radio..anyone?

 

I have a pretty short one.. i think i went from about 2.5" or so to 1.5"...

it looks way better... try that size... you can barely see it, mainly just upclose

but yeah EBAY has all the sizes and they are no rip-off's, good prices!

 

I had the same issue as you, not wanting an antenna / as short as possible. I had a 2.5" stubby from carccessory on there, until I replaced it with a functional shark fin from www.sharkfinantenna.com.

IMO, it gives a clean look since its painted to your car color ...

Can't beat that shark antenna but if you do not like it check out MossMini. My 3 wagon has a billet aluminum antenna (about 6 inches long) which I had originally bought for my Mini Cooper. It cost around $20 - give or take a few bucks. The antenna was shipped with several adapter screws to match the Mazda base so you will not have any connecting problems. It's avail in black or Billet Alum. MiniMania has a several different styles to chose from including the super short "Ultrik" Compact stubby which is only 2.5 inches after installed in base. They have a style which can be sent in one of four different colors. Check the sites links listed above to see pictures both of their antenna products.
BTW: Mazda 3 & Mini Cooper antenna bases are the same size.
