Default Stubby Antenna

[:'(] Anyone have a stubby antenna on their Mazda 3?? I have one and Just got it probley a month and a half ago, almost 2 months, off Ebay...

It was cheap and looked great at first and then after probley 2 weeks, it turned a COPPER COLOR! ahh i am so mad! It was flat black and matched perfectly, and it changed (I would asssume from the Texas sun) to copper... how ugly is that?!

So I emailed the company and they said id have to send it back etc and they'd send me a new one, but the postage and shipping charges arent worth it .. should I just paint it a flat black again?? or get a new one? and if so.. from where... (*a place that someone has gotten theirs from and they HAVENT had it turn colors)....?

If anyone has had this problem or know what to do, PLEASE POST SOMETHING! Thanks!

I got a Freedom Design adjustable antenna from Electrodyne.cc and it is great! Looks good and hasn't faded at all. I have one on the wife's Mazda 3 and one on my VW R32 and it looks great on both vehicles!

Any pictures?

I'm also curious if there's any performance difference.

I dont know about there being any performance differences... it just looks WAYY BETTER! and the stock antenna is soo long and huge... no need to have that flapping in the wind! haha...

oh and when I took my car into the Mazda dealership the other day, they said to KEEP THE OLD ANTENNA because it supports satellite radio if you happen to get it and dont want to spend the xtra money on the antenna itself.... so keep it!

I don't have any pics of the Mazda, but here is the same exact antenna on my VW. FWIW the stock Mazda antenna is longer than the stock VW one. I think it looks pretty good, and we don't get any loss in reception in either car.
