haha, well that must be embarrasing to show have someone look under your hood and see that. but hey, there is nothing wrong with ghetto riggin a part as long as it serves a purpose

Tracker could you maybe provide a picture from some website of the filter of intake you bought from Autozone? Im curious as to excatly what you bought and why it doesnt have teh proper fittings for sensor. You really Lucky the dealership didnt make you pay for them looking at the check engine light problem. I went in a few days after I installed my intake just to see why my car was sluggish. I had that problem from day one after I bought it. Funny how it didnt do it when I test drove it! Anyway. When they saw the intake they immediatley said to take it off and reinstall the factory instake or Id pay just for them to look at it! I quoted the Magnusson laws and they turned red and looked at it for free. Turns out about a year later I fixed the problem myself by fixing the ground.

As far as i know, there is no Autozone brand of intake parts for our car. i have looked at there website numerous times and not seen anything. As far as ghetto rigging something, that is just bad, if you cant do it right, dont do it at all, thats the way i look at it. if the part you bought, didnt have the location for the sensor, then it obviusly was not the right part, and should not be used.

ok, so you put an APC cone filter on the car, and drilled a hole in the accordian hose for the MAF/AFM sensor to plug into. I think i got why the duct tape is holding it in place. I have actually thought about doing that, but using hard tubing to go into the manifold and basically cutting a section out of the stock air box, a piece that has the hole already in it, and the screw location, and drilling a hole into the new pipe and putting that piece on it, somehow wrapping it around the pipe, so it will fit.

ahh, i got it now, isnt there an adapter that can be purchased to fit the AFM/MAF back into car, if the intake does not have a location for it, I thought it was just a little piece of tubing with the location drilled out, that goes between the filter and the accordian hose.

I just installed my cold air racing intake in my 6 2006 and everything went well. I have on e question though!! There is a small vaccum hose on the front of the original air box. I do not just want to plug it and I do not want to leave it hanging. I was going to drill a hole into the new intake and seal it in. What do you think!! Thanks in advance!
