even though the oil industry has changed, higher output engines and technology has changed too. It's much cheaper to change the oil than your motor. and its really not all that expensive....If you drive your car hard then under no circumstance would I change oil in my car that long of a time. I've talked to guys from my local BMW club who run synthetic and still change their oil at 2-3K....waste of money maybe....I guess it depends on how **** you are and how well you take care of your ****....
