Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, just bought my first Mazda car.There are a couple of glitches that I'm not sure about one is a slow idle speed ( seems like the car is ready to cut out) and the car seems to be chugging like the timing is out when driving slow about the town.
The car has 71000 miles on the clock so I don't think it's the timing chain, the car has been back to the garage a couple of times but they say their is no problem as the computer check shows everything is working.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I would change the PCV valve (more than likely never changed). I would also clean the throttle body and MAF sensor while you are there. It is also possible that your EGR valve may be starting to clog. Clean the EGR as well. While doing these things, disconnect your negative terminal on the battery followed by an application of the brake pedal. After everything is done, let car idle for 10 minutes. after 50-100 miles your computer should be re-learned to the new items cleaned. you do not need to drive 50-100 miles at one time!

 

Do you know the maintenance history of your new vehicle? If you don't know for certain if the spark plugs have been replaced, I would start by doing that. In addition to getting new plugs firing, you also get to evaluate the old ones. You can compare their condition to pics on websites showing what plugs look like coming from healthy engines, and also what the unhealthy ones look like. in all of the various problem conditions . Mark them as they're removed, in case one or more have major differences - it can help in problem resolution later. Is everything ok with all of the fluid levels and condition?
