Hello everyone!

I just joined this forum because I purchased a 2014 Mazda3 with a 6-speed manual. I'm doing a tune up and was wondering what's the best manual transmission fluid to use. I've spent hours searching the forums, but haven't found anything concrete. I apologize if I missed a similar thread.

I've been researching fluids for this and have found Pennzoil 75w-90 Platinum with a GL-4 rating. Is this a good choice? Is there a better choice? In the past, I've used Royal Purple trans fluid with great results. If anyone has any recommendations on this topic I'd GREATLY appreciate the info.

This is my first Mazda and I'm LOVING the car!! It's already one of my absolute favorites!

One that we use for Mazda and many other platforms in the service shop for 2010 (aprox) to present

Valvoline Flexfill SAE 75W-90 Full Synthetic Gear Oil

For better IMHO then its hard to beat or compare but cost more:

Red Line 50305 MT-90 75W-90 GL-4 Manual Transmission and Transaxle Lubricant

or

Amsoil SVGPK 100% Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) SEVERE GEAR Lube

Castrol VMX 75w85.

 

So, I used the Valvoline Flexfill option this weekend because I couldn't find the other two.

The transmission shifts so smoothly now! Thanks for the feedback!
