Default Mazda 3 2005 problems

I've been having problems with my mazda 3 2005. When filling up at the pump it will click like its full every $.20 or so. I was wondering if this could be a charcoal canister or purge valve. Maybe also wondering if this could be meaning that my fuel filter needs to be changed. Another problem affecting my car is when running my rpms have been dropping to under 1,000 and I have to rev my engine just to keep my engine from not stalling in an automatic.

Try changing the angle at which you hold the nozzle when filling up.

I've tried many angles and even pulling it out a bit and still the same problem. I can only pull the handle about 1/8 in to let a little bit of gas out and go $25 worth of gas into my car in 11 minutes.
