Default K & N CAI

Hey, decided on getting a CAI for the car finally, pros just seem better then the cons. i am gonna go with the K & N series, but take off the cold air intake pipe and just use it as a short ram so that i will have less of a risk of hydrolocking but still get the bigger air pull. any bad ideas about this, is it more likely to pull a CEL?

i've heard alot of disappointing reviews on the K&N... mostly that you experience almost no gains at all so it's basically not worth the money at all. I have not personally purchased the item because i have a mazda6, but this is what was based on others reactions to the products. i believe they are somewhere on this site, maybe do a little searching for it.

I am a new sponsor on this site---I have the Simota Twin Charger CAI in stock and ready to ship for $80 plus $15 shipping.
It is a great filter and intake system esp for the money. I have the Twin Charger on my Pro.
