Default MAFci "CAI" System

I would just like to notify all of you mazda6 owners that want to put on a cold air intake system that there is a great system out there that will outrank the other competitors. These competitors that I am aware of are K&N, Injen, AEM. Sure they make great CAIs, but they do cause your air flow sensors to be messed up because more air is coming into your engine therefore making your vehicle run leaner. Now with the MAFci System, it comes with a tuneable version that you can adjust the sensor to adjust to your likings so that your CEL does not come on. MAFci adjusts your air/fuel ratio to give you more HP and torque. That becomes very annoying when your CEL light is on, or if you are trying to tell someone to check out your cool car and then they see the CEL light on. How embarrassing is that haha. This system is worth the money if you ask me because it not only gives you the power of a competitive CAI, but it also adds a little more power since the air/fuel ratio is being corrected through tuning. All you need is a computer to hook it up to and tinker around with it for a few minutes.

Here's the link to check out the system.... Choose the Tuneable version if you want to have no CEL problems....... Custom Performance Engineering

Lemme know what you guys think and if you have any more questions on this issue, I'm just trying to allow for you to have the opportunity to have the best of the best system and I don't want to see anyone left out from this chance!!!!

Default RE: MAFci "CAI" System

So long as the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is in place, any CAI should be adjusting the fuel ratio for proper mixture. The engine monitors that in conjunction with the O2 sensors at the exhaust to gauge the rich/lean condition and adjust accordingly. The computer in your engine should have some "block learn" capabilities where over time it records the readings it is seeing from the MAF and O2 sensors and permanently adjust the fuel mapping for optimal performance.

Do other CAI systems not use the MAF sensor???

Default RE: MAFci "CAI" System

from what i have heard, any other CAI develops a CEL that is constantly on. The problem does not go away so i am going to say that the system does not learn to adjust the air/fuel ratio automatically. Injen is a huge problem with the mazda6's.... almost every 6 owner that i have talked to has said that they have the CEL problem. This special MAF System is especially made to fix that problem that annoys so many drivers. You can tune it yourself and I'm sure that if you call the company, they could help you get some statistics to help you reprogram your engine if you don't know what you are doing.
