Default a few engine questions

anyone know if mazda3 (07, 2.0L) has an IAC (idle air control valve)? i found the would-be mounting location near the TB, but no IAC. could it be that the electronic throttle control isdoing the IAC duty?

I also found that there's a coolant line that goes through the TB and goes into (through) the EGR valve.

I am also looking for the PCV valve, there should be a hose conneting to TB downstream of throttle plate, could not see it.

there seem to be twl vacuum lines that goes from the TB, one seems to go to the brake control (master cylinder area), where does the other line go, and where does it do?

Virgin, any thoughts? i went through the online workshop manual, tech guide etc, but did not find the answer.

Default RE: a few engine questions

Hey Win!! It's been a while....
No IAC on these engines. As you suspect, those duties are kept in check electronically by the ECU/PCM on these, and most, modern cars. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad one, but it's the nature of modern car makers.
The TB does have a coolant line through it to help keep it from freezing up in extreme weather, as well as a more consistent air/fuel temperature. It's that last reason some have been given to bypass that line and plug the TB, but no documentation of additional performance or mileage has ever been offered. Most think it's a waste of time and effort. I haven't tried it myself for these same reasons, though it never gets that cold where I'm at. I may one day, just for the heck of it.
As for a PCV valve, I don't think these have one of those either!! In my research, Ican find nothing available as a replacement part in any parts stores location. If the engine had one, it would be located in the hose that runs between therear of the valve coverand the intake system. But, even when installing my CAI I do not recall seeing anything in-line, or as part of the hose that would indicate a PCV. They may have found a way to eliminate that too.
As for those vacuum lines, I'd have to look again. As long as they are not leaking and doing whatever it is that they are supposed to be doing, I wouldn't worry about it.
