Default Exhaust system

Is it true that the stock exhaust needs to be cut before installing a new exhaust system?

Default RE: Exhaust system

Only on the earlier build vehicles. I believe in late 2005 the exhaust changed to multiple pieces allowing you to pull it out.

If you have the 1 pc, you can either cut the stock exhaust, or pull the lower left rear control arm to allow the exhaust to come out. (That was the only thing in the way when I installed my Mazdaspeed exhaust)
