Engine idle kicks up to 3000 rpm
Hi: Sometimes when I come to a stop my engine (B3000) will idle at 3000 rpm and the only way I can bring it back down is to turn off the engine and restart, although sometimes this takes several tries. I have replaced the idle air control valve and there are no fault codes, I also disconnected the cruise control. Any ideas on what I could try next?
how did it perform after the fix?

Chances are, its still the IAC Valve. Ive done extensive research on the car revving up that high as mine is doing it as well anytime I press the clutch and sometimes even my vehicle self accellerates. The only IAC Valves that work on these trucks are the Hitachi or OEM parts. You cannot get a iac valve off of a ranger or a different mazda. Has to be the exact same part or the hitachi brand. Ive talked to a mazda specialist on just ask and this is what he told me. He also said as a temporary fix, this wont harm the truck but it will slightly underpower it, accelerate a little slower, loss of power, longer AC cool down, you can take the iac valve off, cover the holes with some diy gasket maker at orileys, and bolt the iac back on and plug it in, and the truck will run and shift fine, no more revving. The vehicle will idle lower around 500rpms though. Its a great temporary fix until you can find an oem part. Sorry I know this is such a late response to this post. I hope this info is useful to someone!!!
