Question Mazda 3 & Android Auto

Hi all, I've just purchased my very first Mazda 3, used from a garage forecourt. Its the Sport Black model, and has way less features than I actually thought it would have (so I'm a little gutted about that!) However, I love how it drives (apart from the road noise)
So long story short (well, as short as I can get it)
I want Android Auto, lots of searching online tells me that my Feb 2019, 68 plate Mazda should have Android auto already installed. I'm fairly sure it doesn't, I have a 2 usb port hub in the centre console, when I plug my phone into either one of these, it does nothing apart from charge (very slowly) I've read online that for Android Auto, one of the USB ports should have a little phone icon, mine doesn't. So advice is to go to my local Mazda dealer for upgrades. I contacted Sandicliffe (as I'm in the midlands uk) and they told me they don't do a part for my 2019 mazda, so it should either already be installed, and if its not, I can't have it!
I'm so lost and confused.... should my car already have android auto? And of not, can I update it?
My connect system is running on version 59.00.540 does this need updating?
Please help

Sounds like your Mazda has the older MZD and not the newer Mazda Connect. With software version of 59, you won't have Android Auto. Your system is upgradeable to Android Auto & Apple Car Play.

You will need the software updated to version 70 or higher & install of the hardware kit like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25398361...Bk9SR4DO6vSEZg

Android Auto & Apple Car play hardware.
Android Auto & Apple Car play hardware.

Thanks for the reply.
I've since read on another forum that the 2019 Mazda 3 already has Android auto installed, but it needs a firmware update, then enabling with an MDARS kit at the local dealers. Not sure if this is true or not. It's not something I would be comfortable doing myself either way, so I'm now in touch with my local dealer who are going to get back to me on Monday. I'll update once I know more details. Thanks again
