Have been reading the forum, my story is not unusual. Have not abused the clutch in any way (riding it etc). Completely powdered - no way to detect defects. Tech told me its user-error (of course) so not covered under warranty. Am going to take some photos to include in letter to Mazda Canada.

Very unhappy with the $1675 bill.

Is this car a lemon? Power steering started intermittently seizing (replaced under warranty) & catalytic converter seized (warranty). Really? the care is only a little over 2 yrs.

Do I have any recourse?

 

unfortunalty a clutch is what is known as a "wear" item so it wouldnt be covered under warranty same goes for brakes and tires. almost 2k for a clutch replacement is ridiculous, you could have went to an independent shop and got it done cheaper
