Default CEL code p0507

I have a 2006 3 5dr auto with about 100k and this is the only issue we have had with the car in 55k we have owned it. My wife was driving home from work and the car was idling high probably around 1200 stopped in drive and the CEL was on. When she got home I went for a drive and put a little more than a half tank of gas in, the gas light was on when she was driving, and then the car wanted to idle really low and stalled on me in drive 3X. I went to Auto Zone and had them scan and came up with p0507 (Idle Air Control (IAC) System RPM Higher Than Expected). It stalled once more on the way home and then I cleaned the throttle body by spraying a rag not the TB and the MAF with a q-tip. While doing the aforementioned cleaning, I disconnected the negative and pumped the brakes to try clear the code. The code came back on after the second start. The car idles smoother and no stalling after a week or so of driving. Any insights as to what is making the CEL stay on? I did take pictures of the freeze frame data if that would help with diagnosing.

Did you do the battery disconnection after or before the cleaning of the throttle body? When you move the butterfly while cleaning it throws the system out of whack as it is electrically controlled. You must disconnect battery before cleaning, then re-connect after cleaning.
Disconnect the battery again, and drive around for another week.

There could also be a leak somewhere, making it impossible for the idle air control to reduce the air enough to regulate idle... broken hose or something is what i'd look for.

I'll try that now. I re-reset the cpu and the cel came back on after the second start up.
