Yes, warranty void due to accident. The insurance company felt the damage cost was beyond the value of the vehicle, usually 50% or more. Once the title is branded salvage, the manufacture is released from all warranty related claims. The manufacture can no longer guarantee the vehicle will perform as designed because it was so heavily altered, in this case, wrecked.

I know of people that have had excellent experiences with branded titles. Again, it all depends on your risk comfort level. If after driving it, something just doesn't feel right, it's probably not.

You could ask if they had an alignment done after the repair and if they were given a print out of the final readings. If your understand alignment angles, incl. SAI and Trust Angle, you can at least be sure the suspension is somewhat solid. Ask for a copy and let some one you trust decipher it if your not sure.

I'm really not trying to scare you away from the purchase. I love my Mazda's and don't want anyone to get tainted by a vehicle that was doomed from the get go.

I know that Mazdas are great cars in terms of reliability. I just don't know if it's worth have a car with no warranty even if it drives perfect. Would it be better to spend another 6-7k on a used one with a warranty or is this deal too good?

If I was looking for a Gen 3 s GT sedan with an automatic transmission I'd jump on that car (assuming it drives well).

Even with a voided warranty?

Yup.

I guess fortunately for you my wife and I are allergic to Automatic transmissions and we want a 5-Door; otherwise we'd probably pounce on this car.

I'm thinking about checking the car out in a couple of weeks. The hard part is giving up my 2013 Dart with a warranty for the Mazda.

My wife and I test-drove a Dart before we drove the Mazda3; no comparison; as much as we liked the Dart, it isn't in the same class as the Mazda3.

I still have yet to test drive one. My dart has already had a list of warranty issues which scares me. I was maybe looking to sell my dart so I could jump into something a little more reliable like the Mazda.
