Default Is an alignment necessary?

I need to replace the front struts on my car (2007 Mazda 3i). I'm wondering if an alignment is necessary after install. I'm not replacing with short coils or anything like that, just a straight swap.

The reason for my question is Haynes says to get it aligned, but the setup/mount is just like my '05 Focus - which does not require an alignment after a swap - (in fact, there are no adjustment that can be made).

Is this also the case with my Mazda?

Anytime you replace a suspension component you need to have an alignment done, even if it's just a straight swap.
