Contact Mark Konzman at mazdapartswholesale.com and he can tell you what part number you need for the 2010 model. I had the number but have misplaced it somewhere. He also sent me the wiring diagram and the voltage test/resistance readings were some different on the different year models.

Well it worked! Midget666's writeup about the software activation is spot on for a 2010 Mazda3 i sport as well. The hardest part was finding a service tech willing to do the programing. So just to recap... A 2010 Mazda3 i sport requires 2 things: The steering wheel buttons: part number BBM5-66-4M0. And software activation from a Mazda dealer or authorized shop. Thanks for everyone's help.

Default Looking for clearifacation please

To the folks that got their factory cruise control installed after the fact especially the 2012 Mazda 3 folks is it still working for you and was it that easy to get it function? We have a 2012 Mazda 3 with dealer installed AFTERMARKET Rostra cruise and it SUCKS. The dealer installed it at 7 o clock on the steering column and you can not see the stick to work it when driving. This aftermarket **** must go!

Default Working Great

My 2012 Isport is still working great. The parts listed above are all you need and it will take you about 30 minutes to install the steering wheel switch control. "Its so easy a cave man can do it" Hard part is finding a dealership that will run the program for you. Good Luck.

A HUGE thank you to all that have posted their trials and success stories here for others to see and learn from this will the make my wife's day! She loved her car till the dealer put that aftermarket cc in. To get the stock CC working will be AWESOME! Thanks again all!!!!

Default Radio or no???

One more question for Midget666 did you have the radio controls before the install or just two blanks on the steering wheel? I am trying to nail down the part number I need as we already have the radio controls on the left and a blank on the right (where the CC) should go. The part I am looking at is BEH3664M0C for a 2012 the part number that you used BBM5664M0C other than price I am trying to discern the difference if any or it could be just a new number for the same part.

Thanks!

Default Speed Control

Yes I had the radio buttons when I bought the car but you will have to purchase a totally new unit. It comes as a prewired harness with all the wires connected at the factory. (Radio and speed control wired together.) My understanding is that the whole mess works on some type of voltage reduction or voltage increase that tells the computer what to do so it has to all be in one unit. I listed the part number earlier and to my knowledge it has to be the exact part. Very simple to change out but remember "REMOVE YOUR BATTERY TERMINALS PRIOR TO STARTING" otherwise you may blow the airbags.

I have the part BBM5664M0C arriving on Tuesday! Will post back when I get her up and running. Thanks again to all

**update** Installed Part BBM5664M0C and she went in no problem at all. Radio controls work just like before so now the hunt is on for a Dealer to activate the cruise control. I do not know why this is such a "the world is flat no the world is round" deal with the Dealers. Will post back when I get her activate.

And yet ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY!!!!

OK Boys and Girls here are the facts. 11/2011 Purchased NEW 2012 Mazda 3 I Sport. Did NOT come with factory cruise control installed. Purchased part number(BBM5664M0C) listed here installed it my self as mentioned above disconnect your battery cables kids and discharge the system(turn on headlights) prior to doing work to save your airbag from going off. Install part and then find a dealer that will do the following steps again as mentioned in this post before I did not discover any of this I simply followed the steps listed here:

Plug in computer to the under-the-dash port and fire up the diagnostic program and select the VIN number. Then select the Speed icon and hit enter; next the computer gives you choice to inhibit or activate; Select activate, and the program will run for about a minute and display the message done. Disconnect computer and test drive, the cruise control is now active.

And sure enough the factory cruise control works!! Just like Midget9999 stated DO NOT LET THE DEALER TELL YOU DIFFERENT! This is the part that is the most daunting as the service manager was telling me things like "this is very involved" and "it has to be installed at the factory" this is the best one after I showed him the instructions for activation and told him I had installed all the parts needed "i don't know what you have been reading but it is not quick and easy!" Stay strong but be nice ask for them to just try it. They will call the "tech line" and the tech line will say the same thing as they always do. We have no information on this as this has never been done before.....Really?!?!? I'm the first? NOT! Preserver and stand your ground it does work no matter what anyone at Mazda says.

Thank you again too Midget9999 and everyone who posted info on how to do this.
