2010 Mazda3 charging issue
Altinator charges at around 14VDC with no load. As soon as any load is added the voltage starts to drop. If I add heavy load such as the AC the voltage starts to drop until the car starts to malfunction. I checked the voltage at the altinator and the same results. I checked for bad connections and cleaned up all the ground connections. I tried another battery from my other car that is only a year old and same results. I bought a used altinator from a salvage Company and the same thing happened. I turned on the key to the point just before the car starts and checked for a refence voltage at the connector that plugs I to the altinator. No voltage reading at all. Checked for bad fuses.
Should I have a voltage reading at that connector with the key turned on? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
