Hello there,

I am a broke student with a broken car trying to survive the pandemic. My mazda 3 was working perfectly fine one day and then this happened. The gears box moves very quickly but the gears itself are not moving. The car doesn't recognize that. Does anyone have any idea on what the diagnosis could be? Any help will be much appreciated! If you know what the problem is, could you also tell me how to fix it and how much it might potentially cost?

Has it been scanned for fault codes?
Is the ATF clean and at the correct level?

 

Yes the ATF is clean and at the correct level. It hasnt been scanned however. Do you know what it may be tho?

 

Without road testing and scanning for codes I would be making a wild guess. There are far too many components involved.
