Default 10' madza3 heater **** control broken

Hello all

My name is Dave and I have a issue with my wife car, 2010 Madza3. Seem that the control for the heat won't turn off or "dial back" (turn) to low or off.
I don't drive this car so Im not up on it. Some how it broke while a passenger was adjust the temp.
I pulled the **** off and tried to adjust put to no prevail. As it is now it only turn say..... 1 o'clock to 5 o'clock.

Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful.
Thanks

If you are mechanically minded, grab a torch and look under the dash, check the cable mount and flap mechanism.

I bought an used Mazda 3 2016 I Sport ( with 33000 miles). At the beginning i had the issue that the heater didn't blew any hot air. It was an issue with the dial ( the link was somehow loose and when you turned the tail hard left it jumped back), anyway i got that fixed within the warranty. Now 4 thousand miles later i kinda have the same issue again, the dial is feeling fine but since last week i Nox Vidmate VLC dint get any hot air coming from the A/C. Though sometimes randomly there is a softly "pop" sound and it the air is getting instant hot. An zy idea what could be the issue here? Thank you for the help
