Default Mazda 2 knock sensor removal/replace

Hi everyone,

2009 mazda 2 1.3. Are there any guides to the removal of the knock sensor? Or guides on how to remove the Intake manifold for access?

Many thanks.

@grim_reaper Hi, many thanks for that. Looks easy enough to take off so will give it a go myself.

Does the intake have to come off to get to the knock sensor? I need to replace one on a 2013 mazda 2 and really would rather not go through draining the coolant then proceeding to remove the intake. Any advice is much appreciated!

Managed to get this job done January time. Was pretty easy. You do have to remove the intake. However The diagram says to remove 2 coolant pipes (no.10's on the diagram) You don't. You can leave the coolant pipes attached and work around them.
