Good finds, especially that first teardown of the Mazda MZR ZJ-VE engine—it’s actually one of the better visual breakdowns I’ve seen too, mainly because it shows the block, water jacket, and head condition clearly instead of just rushing through disassembly. What you’re noticing about the internals is typical: these ZJ-VE motors tend to look surprisingly clean if they’ve had decent oil changes, while the rougher examples in other videos usually show sludge around the cams and PCV return areas. The 1.5 ZY-VE is similar in layout but a bit more prone to wear issues when maintenance is skipped. Overall, those videos are useful because they make it easier to understand where the common failure points actually are rather than just guessing from symptoms.
