anyone here with a blown engine? seems to be a popular issue on the mazda3 group forum. one poster said to google mazda blown engine. scary

'04 N/A 2.3L HB, 85,000 miles and no problems... so far.

i think one of the posters said it was the 2005-2009 2.3. dunno if only n/a, or turbo, too. no 2.0/5. and no warning, it just cuts loose. ok, i found the posts. he says it is 2004-2009 's'. lotsa google posts, coupla youtube videos, interesting

It does happen with the 2.3s. A few guys across the TM3 board had it happen. Just recently the guy who did my coilovers had a Mazda3 that blew a piston and cracked the headers. Scary stuff indeed. I've met so far 6 guys who have had their 2.3 replaced. 2.0 I haven't heard of one yet. And mines at 245xxxKMs and still running strong!
