Default Low gears a bit bouncy?

Hi all.New here and new to Mazda.I recently purchased a 2019(69) Mazda 2 (115) manual and based in the UK. Loving how easy it is to drive and how you can utilise higher gears at lower speed.

My only question is you get a slight jumpy/bouncy feeling at low speeds after changing gears sometimes or feel like bouncing may happen if come of clutch a bit quickly or if don't change out of lower gears sooner!
if you let it continue it turns into a big kangaroo bounce!!
Ive driven many cars over many years but this is definitely a first. Is this something noticed by anyone else if so how did you deal with it? Thanks Graham

Welcome to the forum

Any questio0n concerning the manual transmission you should be addressing it at a shop that s[pecializes in transmission service. Your description for some may read like you shifting style. The fact that you are comparing a single engineered type of manual transmission specifically a Mazda Skyactiv transmission to other makes is an indicator that you should take my *advice.

*ASE = cuz I know things!

It's a matter of logical thinking. So, your engine is making about ( this a guesstimation based on doing hundreds of chassis dyno runs on various platforms and engines) 45-50 bhp at 2500 RPM so shift less then 2500 or a better engine speed would be 3000 would tend to result in a smoother overall shift feel. Now the opposite is shifting at 4000 you are now close to the max torque your engine can produce and about 55-80max bhp so the shift would be firmer and harder on all the clutch and transmission parts and operation.

Then the question I should have asked was how many miles on the transmission and the current clutch. If oat or more then 100k miles, then what service was done and at what miles? If nothing has been serviced, then it is one more thought to have a professional service shop look at your transmission and the supporting parts not only the clutch but the engine and transmission mounts.

Thank you very much I have been changing unfer 2500 so maybe worth a try as you say looking at a slightly high engine speed before the change.
The car has only covered 27000 miles so still fairly new.
I have got it booked in with my local Mazda dealer to have a look and check to see if it needs anything looking at.
really appreciate your time and knowledge.
