Hi there,

I got problem with my Mazda 2 2011 - it is making that weird noise when shifting gear - usually 1st and 2nd or......... when on those gears quickly accelerate and fast de-accelerate fast.
The noise is like holding 2 spanners in hands and bang then.
There is just one "bing" when shifting gear.

What is it and is it very expensive to fix?

1st thing is to check the lower/rear engine mount, common to get stones/rocks in them but also they do crack & separate over time.

 

Thank You for advise - 100% need to check it - so far I look for a part - is it the same as "gear box mount" ?

Is it like this one? It says on website Lower.

Or.......... Is it like this one - it says it is........ Rear.




Is is hard to replace them? I mean like removing Engine or gear box - or just lift car and undo nuts and replace part?

From memory, I think it looks like & also called the "Lower" mount.

One more question - will this Engine Mount "fix" shaking gearbox when starting from 1st gear or is there other part is failing?

Hard to say over the internet without being able to test drive you car. The main/RHS engine mounts are common to fail and transmit engine vibration thru the chassis.
