by the sound of it, it maybe a maufactures mistake, here are my suggestions, you either call or e-mail Mazda and complain, or pay somebody or do it yourself and take apart your doors and find out the problem, but dont go back to your dealer cuz they sound stupid.
in some states you can get the lemon law people to look into it for some money and if they can't get it fixed/replaced they refund you for the court case and such. I read an article on it the other day. Here's my favorite case:
A lady bought a Mazda 626 near the end of the year and wanted one of the next year models that just came out with more standard features. So she complained that everytime she touched the door handle, it shocked her. When the Lemon law court case company asked Mazda if they've had this complaint before. They stupidly said "no" and she won the case and got a brand new one.

How can you make money getting the same car over and over again? Ok, complain that your Mazda3 has a problem. Then pay around $4000 for a lemon lawsuit company to look at it. then if aplicable for the lemon law, Mazda will only give you a new Mazda3 with the same options. This is only good if you want to pay $4000 for a new car smell, next years options, features, body style, and zero miles AND your car has to have a problem with it. Then even if you get the new car, it's just what you had before. nice try though but someone's thought ahead.
Thanks for all the advice.
