P0351 error won't go away, please help.
Tribute 2001 DX V6. Replace sparkplugs. Replaced coil packs, replaced again. Still same problem. If am not wrong, the the Error indicates bad coil at the cylinder near the firewall on the left side if you stand infront of the vehicle. Hope I am wrong.

Have never run accross this kind of code wyciwug so maybe we can learn something new. I am just going to try and decipher and relay to you some of the troubleshooting in shop manual. P0351 looks like it is indicating that the PCM did not get a correct fired signal from the #1 coil. Below is the Detection Condition pasted right out of the shop manual.
P0351 through P0356 indicate that the PCM did not receive a valid Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) pulse signal, which indicates that the primary side of the coil has failed from the ignition module (integrated in the PCM). This is caused by an ignition coil failure.
The HINT in the shop manual did not make much sense to me as it is describing coil tower which you do not have but looks like it is saying that #1 and #5 coils are fired simultaneously. Not sure I am buying all of that but the next part below pasted out of shop manual as well.
Ignition Coil Description

Start by checking for at least 10 volts at #1 coil connector wire that is White with Violet stripe. If you do have that voltage Next is asking if P0351 or P0356 has been stored which it has, then check the crankshaft position sensor down at the crankshaft pulley. Disconnect connector and sensor should have a resistance of 290-390 ohms. If that checks ok then wants you to hook a 12 volt test light across both wires at the #1 coil. Crank engine and make sure light blinks consistently. This would be checking the integrity of the circuit to the PCM.
One thing you also might want to try before any of this is to make sure that the electrical connection at the coil connector are ok. If the pin fit is poor then you would not get a good electrical connection. Might even try getting a very small pair of needle nose pliers and twist the connector pins at the coil itself just slightly. If pin fit is a bit loose then twisting the pin just slightly will give a tighter connection. Hope some of this is helpful and that something out of it works for you. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
