Need help finding gasket part# Oil leak from between lower crankcase and engine block
Heyo everyone, I come in great need of information as for some reason the internet has failed me on this one. Got a 2002 Mazda Tribute LX V6 AT FWD. Currently gearing up replace all the leaking the gaskets and seals, i've already identified all the leaks from the valve covers, timing cover, engine oil pan, transmission pan, crank seal. However there is one more spot that oil is leaking from. Above the oil pan there is a ~3-4 inch thick block that makes up the lower half of the "crankcase", which then mates to the main "v shaped" engine block. There is very obviously a gasket of somekind between these two layers, however the internet isn't acknowledging its existence.
I am looking for the gasket that would rest on top of this block. If anyone could help me identify the gasket, or hell even identify the proper part name of this block it would be super appreciated. Most engine diagrams don't even contain this block, and the only one I found lists it as "not serviced".
What on earth is going on here? The gasket is very soft and fragile... its like jello. Am I being dumb? Is this actually rtv or sillicone? Does a gasket even go here? Any wisdom would be appreciated.
