Default 05 Tribute 4 cyl oil pan gasket

Can someone tell me if there is an oil pan gasket for the 05 Tribute 4cyl? i have looked at all the local aftermarket parts stores and nobody has a listing for one. I looked it up on Rockauto and it showed a tube of silicone. is there really no oil pan gasket for this car? Also, could someone point me to a good procedure for changing the oil pan gasket?

Thanks all

The tube of silicon is the gasket. Lots of cars have covers or pans sealed by silicon sealant.

That is actually a good thing. It is extremely rare for an oil pan sealed with RTV to leak. It is very common for oil pans sealed with gaskets to leak. The only ones I see leak that were sealed with RTV were pryed off which damaged the sealing surface of the pan. Only remove an RTV'ed oil pan with a rubber or dead blow hammer. One good hit and they break loose with no damage to the sealing surface.

Escapes & Tributes are notorious for leaking sumps. I'm only surprised when they're not leaking.
