Default EGR valve hose

I have a 2001 Tribute V-6

the small rubber vacuum hose connected to the top of the EGR valve is cracked, brittle, and dried out and is causing a p401 code (insufficient EGR flow)

the engine is running fine but I'd like to correct the problem

I thought it would be an easy fix just to replace the rubber hose, but the dealer only sells the hose as part of a set of connected hoses with connections to the entire EGR system. A photo of it is below. The hose I'm talking about is the one in the center of the picture with the elbow connection at the end.

Has anyone done a DIY fix for this hose?

No but I'd think any automotive hose would do the trick, maybe fuel hose looks the right size?

I just bought that hose from the Ford dealer $78. I found that if I order the parts from Mazda it takes longer and the parts arrive with Ford part numbers. Now I just order from Ford and get most of them in one day.

Just buy some vacuum hose of the right size a little longer than needed to allow for a wider bend in the hose will likely cost less than $10
