Disconnect Stock Horn and Reroute Wires??
I've read quite a few threads about Mazda Tribute horn replacement and I see that it is non-trivial.
I do want to install a set of Hella Supertones, but I don't actually care if the old horn isn't removed.
I just don't want it to make noise and I want to find the necessary wires to wire up the new horns mounted in a different location.
Any schematics or tips available to go this route?
TIA.

When replacing the single wimpy OE horn with high powered multiple ones I would use the original wire to the horn as a trigger wire for a relay and wire the new horns using that instead. This way you can avoid voltage drops while still retaining the original set p and horn button.
These are usually 4 terminal relays and have numbered markings or even a small schematic printed on the side.
Here's how it goes: Terminal #87 should be connected to your new horns. Do this step first. Terminal #85 should be chassis grounded. Terminal #86 is where the current horn lead should be connected. And finally, lastly too connect Terminal #30 to a power source. This source will power your new horns so make sure you use heavy enough wire. Be sure it's fused by including an inline fuse holder and follow the directions for the horns you are hooking up as far as how much power they require.... probably a 20 amp, but I don't want to definitely say that and have it be wrong.

Thanks for the reply... and yes, I would definitely be using a relay with new horns.
What I haven't been able to find is the horn wire... but you have given me an idea... I should be able to find it on the fuse block. You reckon that's a good place to start?
Cheers.

Sure it is. Look for the diagram on the fuse box cover which should give you a good idea where it is. Or to simplify the situation, simply feed the current horn lead back through the rad support and use it.

In essence, you are replacing or paralleling terminals #85 and #86 with the current horn, so the current wiring is up to that task.
Terminals #87 & #30 will power the new circuit when charged by pushing the horn button, and that's where you need to get it right or risk a meltdown or fire.
