2005 Tribute Steering whell shakes when break is applied at high speed.
Any ideas?
By the way, I have the mechanic work on the break, new tires and car does not steer left or right when let go the steering wheel.

If I understand you correctly, it sounds to me like you have an out of round tire on your hands.
I once went crazy for nearly 2 yrs trying to figure out what was wrong w/the brakes on my car. I finally had to replace the tires and voila!! That was the problem the whole time andunder b-r-a-k-ing was the only timethecar (and steering wheel) would shake as you describe.
Sometimes they get past final inspection and come that way from the tire manufacturer, but it doesn't happen that often.
