Both the front inside door handles on my Mazda Tribute (2001) are broken, but by chance I worked out you can still open the doors from the INSIDE without winding down the window & opening it from the outer handle. If you push in hard enough on the back end of the silver LOCK button (right on the L), the door opens!!!! Works for both sides & saves having to spend money & time fixing it! My kids are all able to open the doors this way without too much effort.
