How to deactivate the TPMS for winter

How to deactivate the TPMS for winter

I would prefer to deactivate my 2005 RX-8's TPMS for winter while running winter tires and wheels. Does anyone know how to do that?

It cannot be deactivated, for the last three years I just covered the light with black tape.
